I'm tired of how the popular reality show are portraying black love.
In particular, I can't stand Love and Hip Hop, Basketball Wives or Real Housewives of Atlanta. I'm still waiting to see how the show Hollywood Exes goes. Sigh!
First of all, few if any of the housewife are actually wives. I'm not sure why all they seem to do is fight with each other. We're not all obsessed with platform stillettos and designer clothes. Okay, I do like nice things and a cute pair of shoes but come on. We don't all drink designer cocktails all afternoon. We work out of the house, we volunteer, we better ourselves. We care for our children and support our men and each other. We have talents that we share with our community. We write, paint, dance, sing or teach.
The truth is we do have long lasting loving marriages. We are beautiful and classy and educated and love our men. We have a beautiful, educated and classy First Lady of the United States and we all should aspire to be as classy as she is in public. I wish that people wouldn't support these shows that portray African American women in such a poor light.
