Two weeks in Review! Spring in full swing!

I love spring. It's a special time of year when people can dress up. Of course, people dress up all year round but Springtime fashion has a certain prettiness that winter, autumn and summer outfits just don't match.

Don't get me wrong. I love the rich jewel tones and elegant fabrics that are mainstays in fall and winter fashions. I also enjoy the casualness of summer attire but springtime styles just seem so fancy.

Vintage Spring Style...Love it.

Week in Review!

  • Purchased and planted vegetables.
  • Purchased flowers for front porch box.
  • Stayed faithful to vegan diet for one week. Broke it on date night with hubby. He took me out for drinks and appetizer. I was starving and the guacamole and chips didn't fill me up. So I ordered some calimari and ate the up along with the sauce which I think had some egg in it. Then ate two bacon wrapped scallops. Stayed vegan all day on Saturday but then ate a hamburger on Sunday. Sigh. Starting again on Monday.
  • Social event/ lunch with new co-worker.
  • Walked with co-worker one day.

  • Date night with hubby.
  • Visted with parents.
  • Booked hotel/condo for Thanksgiving Family getaway. Need to find reasonable priced airfare. I know it is a holiday week so prices unlikely to come down too far. Hoping for a special. Sigh!
Goals for next week
  • Finish reading review of Evidence and possibly Criminal Procedure.
  • Considering taking Kimberly Wilson of Tranquility du Jour - course on Mindfulness e-course; her Creative and Conscious Business e-course. I am especially interested in her business course because I am impressed with her ability create brands and be able to support herself in a variety of ways. Especially her ability to travel and host retreats. She also offers mentoring sessions as part of her e-courses and I would be interested in talking to her about my lack of ideas or far flung ideas.
  • Save money.
  • List stuff on ebay.
  • Visualize business ideas.

Week in Review! Easter Weekend and April Foolish!

I was fortunate to have my daughter home to visit this holiday weekend. She arrived late on Thursday night and stayed until Monday morning. I took Good Friday off from work and got my hair "done" early that morning. My daughter used my car and did a few errands. That evening I purchased the goodies to make a "Low Country Boil". Simple ingredients include some large shrimp with the shell on, crab legs, corn on the cobs, bag of red potatoes, packages of hot links. I cooked it all up an poured it on my large turkey platter. My small family sat around the table for quite a while peeling and eating. It was a great way to start off the Easter weekend.

My husband took us all out to the Cheesecake Factory in Walnut Creek for lunch/dinner on Saturday. It is my oldest daughters favorite restaurant. I had a huge hamburger. Hubby had his favorite chinese chicken salad.

I boiled some eggs but I didn't mix up the coloring. So I didn't have any colored easter eggs this year. I do have a bag of plastic ones that I set on the table for decoration. My kids all asked for Easter baskets. However I didn't prepare any. Sigh!

Other accomplishment this week include:
  • Getting my hair done.
Okay this is not me but it is the color of my new hair extensions. Picture snatched from the web.

  • Attending the 1st annual WCCUSD Jazz Festival in which my son planned the bass guitar

  • Regraded the Fab5 entries. Guess I should have read the instructions the first time.
  • Cleaned out my closet. Filled two large garbage bags with clothes to donate. Packed up some stuff to return to store by mail.

  • Cleaned out daughters bedroom so that older daughter would be able to have a place to stay. Filled three bags of stuff to give away to thrift store. Younger daughter is growing up and realizing that she doesn't have to keep everything. Daughter wants to know where the tennis shoes are in Mariah's closet.

  • Sat in the sun on good friday on my own deck and drank coffee.
