Decisions- I Said Yes to the Dress!

I chose the first dress pictured below. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I love romantic clothes. This dress has it all ruffles, roses, pearls and shimmer. It doesn't matter that my sister, my daughter and a few people at work didn't like it. The dress is my style. I am happy to announce that I won the dress on ebay and plan to wear it for my vows renewal in November. I plan to style it up with layers of pearl necklaces, a lace shrug and a romantic birdcage veil. I wish that I had listened to my own heart. I wasted a little bit of money purchasing two other dresses that aren't right. I now have to try to re-sell them on eBay. Oh well. They will sell. Maybe I can even make a profit.

The goddess dress was pretty but it is long is just not right. It is just too heavy for me. The middle dress is pretty but it probably won't fit and it is for much younger girl anyway.

I am looking at a few head pieces on Etsy dot com to wear during the ceremony. There are so many custom made head pieces or fascinators to choose from. I especially like the ones with the vintage pins and a little bit of feathers. I don't want anything too big or with too much veil. I need to make a decision about that soon because most of these are custom made and will take a little bit of time to arrive.

I have decided to make the bouquets for the girls. My colors are purple, lavender, white and silver. I bought several bunches of silk flowers at the dollar store. They aren't as nice as the single stem flowers at Michaels but they should make a nice bouquet. The green sticky floral tape is a bit more difficult to work with than I thought. I also discovered that I need a lot more flowers than I thought. Still it is cheaper than buying flowers, so I will stick it out.

My Vow Renewal Ceremony Plans & Dress Choices

Hubby and I will be married 21 years this Novemeber. We're going on a cruise (with the kids) and I've decided that I want to participate in the vows renewal ceremony available on board.

Vows renewal ceremonies seem to be all the rage these days and most cruiselines offer packages on board. They cost a little bit of money but in the small package that I selected we will renew our vow hosted by the ship's Captain in a special location on board,  a signed certificate in a folder, a two layer cake, champagne glasses as well as music, photographer (1 - 8X10 picture included). Oh yeah, one rose bouquet for bride and rose for groom's lapel.

Hubby laughed when I mentioned it but he said he would participate as long as it doesn't conflict with his shore excursions. No problem.

I told him about my plans to dress our daughters up in matching bridesmaids/flower girl dresses and son in a matching vest. The kids ( all teen agers are very excited and agreed that they would wear whatever dress that I picked out for them. Husband said "I'm not wearing a purple shirt. In fact, I'll pick out my own outfit."

Woo hoo! So I guess he's in.

So now I'm trying to figure out what to wear. I don't want a full length wedding dress. I did that the first time. It was complete with the giagantic Princess Diana sleeves.

Anyway, now everything is strapless and I can't wear strapless as I am too top heavy. That being said I bid and won a strapless dress with a few beads that are very pretty. I want it to be dressy but casual. Here are a few options that I have selected. Pictures are from e-bay. What do you all think?

This one with the roses around the neckline is my favorite. I have a feeling that the second one isnt' even going to fit but I bid anyway because it is really hard to find a shorter dress.

Maybe I can diet down to fit it during the next 10 weeks.
Next week I will post about my efforts to make bridesmaids bouquets for the girls.

Oh my gawd. I just bid on another dress. I really, really like this one and I hope that the seller accepts my offer. It's a grecian goddess dress style. I. LOVE. IT. I probably should have offered more.

These are pictures from ebay just to acknowledge the photographer.

First Saturday in August!

I think that it's going to be a nice day today. I spent the week taking my son to jr midget football practice/ conditioning every evening. The kid has played sports but never football and he's never worked so hard in his life yet he loves it. I love to see him running, stretching and getting in shape. I also love to watch all the cute ex-football playing dads who coach. Lemme stop.

Today I am attending my RWA chapter meeting. I always come home so motivated to work on some new stories or revise/finish something already in progress. I have a number of stories that are yet to be finished and I need to get a move on it.

I hope that all of you will be having a great first Saturday in August.

Penthouse Heat is a contemporary erotic romance e-book in novella length. It is available from my publisher (Liquid Silver Books), amazon, and fictionwise (nook).

RIP Amy Winehouse!

I'm so sorry to hear that Amy Winehouse passed away today. I wasn't the biggest fan but she was a great talent who I'm sure had an interesting story to tell.

Twenty seven years seems to be the magic number for musicians. Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Curt Cobain and a number of others all passed away at twenty seven years old.
Tomorrow in honor of Amy Winehouse, I'll be wearing heavy black eyeliner and extra BIG hair. I pray that whatever demons haunted her in life will leave her spirit in peace.

And while we are discussing the 27 club lets listen to a classic from the legendary Jimi Hendrix.

Summer Time! I love Club Queen and Penthouse Heat!

So much is has been happening in the past few weeks. First and foremost, I want to let everyone know that Penthouse Heat is now for sale on http://www.amazon.com/, http://www.allromanceebooks.com/ as well as http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/books/penthouseheat.htm .

I am running a contest on Happilyeverafter book reviews to win a free copy of Penthouse Heat. The contest ends this Friday, June 17th. http://hea-reviews.blogspot.com/

Last week, I was profiled in the Monday morning excerpt on Interracial Multicultural Book blog. On Friday of last week my cover was up for cover art of the week but I didn't win. Next month, I will be featured in their Author Spotlight and they will also be writing a review of Penthouse Heat. This is an up and coming blog so keep and eye out for them. http://www.irmcbooks.com/

I just joined http://www.goodreads.com/ and joined their Author Program  so that I will be able to conduct some events, such as quizzes, chats and giveaways to promote my novella there.

Keep an eye on my facebook page www.facebook.com/AuthorP.A.Moore or  my twitter www.twitter.com/mspamoore to find out more about my upcoming promotional events.

In other news, I am throughly disgusted with Crystal Harris for dumping Hugh Hefner. The runaway bride told Entertainment Tonight "I wasn't the only woman in Hef's life. I didn't feel comfortable in my heart knowing that and getting married to him, because a marriage is between two people."

Hello Crystal (tapping on glass) didn't you know anything about Hugh Hefner, The Playboy Mansion or the Playboy lifestyle when you met him. What about when you agreed to marry him? What about when you were hanging around the mansion. I just don't believe that excuse.
Well I love a happily ever after as much as the next girl but the rumor is that Crystal was also dating the son of Phil McGraw.

If you are going to dig for gold then DO BETTER. It'll be years before McGraw's son inherits anything if at all. Mr Hefner two young sons seem like much better catches if you want a playboy. I'm not sure if they are over 21 years of age yet but with a little research she could have crosssed paths with one of them.

That being said, good luck with your music career. The song Club Queen isn't half bad.

Congratulations Kim Kardashian!

It's all over the internet and tabloids. Kim Kardashian's engaged to be married. Yeah! I'm really happy for her. She reportedly received a 2 million dollar 20 carat diamond engagement ring. You know, I keep wanting to say something snarky but I'm not a hater. Her fiance, Kris Humphries obviously knows what she likes. By the way he's a cutie. (My husband says that she bought the ring.) Whatever.

Kim you deserve every single bit of that bling. Wear it proudly girl!

Kim and Kris, I pray that you have a long, happy and healthy marriage to each other. I really do.

By the way, is he black?  Nevermind.

Oh, I'm also happy for Kate Middleton. You remind me so much of Cinderella.
Sigh!

Wishing and praying for happily ever after.

Release Day for Penthouse Heat!

Today is the debut of my contemporary erotic novella Penthouse Heat!

Blurb: Moving into a new home on the penthouse floor of Prestige Towers should

have been the most exciting time of Celeste's life. Instead, her career starts

falling apart, her hair won't behave, and the sexy neighbor she decides to have

a fling with isn't interested in anything more than phone sex.

For years, Ken Strong played hard on the field and off. Tired of the games, the

groupies and the fast life, he's made a decision to give up the playboy

lifestyle and stay celibate until he gets married. It's a difficult task since

he's still one of football's most recognizable players, and the woman he wants

for his wife lives right next door.

May 23rd is the release date for Penthouse Heat at Liquid Silver Books

Read an excerpt below.

Chapter One

“Do you have a few condoms I can borrow?” asked the hunk standing in her doorway.

Celeste chewed and swallowed the handful of popcorn she’d just stuffed in her mouth. “Borrow?” she mumbled as her tongue worked to dislodge a kernel stuck in her back tooth.

“Yeah, borrow. I’ll get them back to you tomorrow.” His voice was deep, smooth and seductive like the jazz she loved to listen to late at night. His eyes were inviting and the rest of him was sexy as hell, but it was after midnight and she was home alone.

The short hairs on the back of her neck stood on end and her heart rate sped up. Celeste gripped the open door and looked the stranger up and down. Narrowing her eyes, she evaluated the bottle of wine and threatening-looking corkscrew he held. “How did you get onto this floor? You need a keycard and a code to access the penthouse.”

He scowled at her for a moment and then raised an eyebrow. A hint of a devious grin lifted the corner of his mouth. “I live here. The management introduced us. Don’t you remember?” He stretched his well-toned arm out using the bottle to point to the open door a few yards down the polished hallway. “I’m Kentucky. I bought the other unit on this floor. I moved in last night.” He tucked the wine under his left arm and extended an open hand. “You can call me Ken.”

Celeste’s nipples tightened as she gazed up at six and a half feet of muscle standing in her doorway. Any anxiety she might have felt about a stranger knocking on her door at midnight faded away. Replacing it was an increasingly urgent need to stand on her tiptoes and taste his thick sexy lips. How could I forget this piece of eye candy? I’m going to have to stop working so hard. She ran her gaze up and down his frame. She stopped at his chest, which was tightly wrapped in a T-shirt with the name of his employer. The conversation when they were introduced all came back to her.

“Your new neighbor, he plays football for the Stars. You’ll be sharing the penthouse,” the young girl working in the management office whispered to Celeste one day while she picked up her mail. They’d been introduced while he was busy completing paperwork and Celeste hadn’t paid much attention to who she was meeting. She’d been too focused on the details of her own work. “You’ll certainly get your money’s worth out of that unit. He’s going to be Prestige Towers’ most eligible catch.”

His hand now hung in the air waiting for her to grasp, so she wiped the butter from her fingers onto her pajamas and shook it. His calloused hand enveloped her tiny palm, and he held on a moment longer than necessary. He squeezed, sending a shiver of excitement up her arm straight to her heart. “I’m Celeste. I remember now. I’m sorry I didn’t recognize you. I’ve been so distracted with work and all.” She bit her lip to keep from licking it in front of him.

“You really didn’t recognize me?” He looked a bit disappointed.

“No, I just meant that… I…” Her heart raced and she couldn’t think of the words to explain the mental state she’d been in since her husband, David, had taken ill and died.

In the months since he’d passed, Celeste moved from the old bungalow she’d shared with David to the newly built Prestige Towers. The change of scenery turned out to be just the thing she needed to get over her grief, uplift her spirits and give her a new sense of purpose. Celeste threw herself into decorating her new home and working hard at her career. While she still thought of David often, she no longer mourned him. Instead, she cherished the memories and looked forward to the future.

“Don’t worry about not recognizing me. I probably look different than I did on that day. So, do you have any condoms? I’m expecting company any minute now.” He raised and lowered his eyebrows at her, then began opening the bottle of wine.

Celeste thought about the unopened box of condoms hiding in the back of the closet. She’d managed to get rid of all David’s other personal items and toiletries; the one thing remaining was the aging box of condoms. A simple reminder of the passion they’d shared. “Sure. Let me get ’em. I don’t think they’ve expired yet.” Celeste straightened a vase of flowers resting on the entry hall table and brushed an invisible film of dust off the polished glass before turning and heading back into the condo. Don’t forget. He has someone coming over.

Celeste took a deep breath, inhaling the aroma of gardenia-scented candles and fresh-cut roses placed around her house. She let the anxiety, the unexpected excitement and sudden arousal float away with the breeze. She took a couple of deep cleansing breaths as she walked down the hallway, letting her breasts rise and fall under her flannel top in slow, rhythmic movements.

Celeste returned to the door and handed him the box of condoms.

“I’m sorry to bother you so late. I just got back from practice. I haven’t finished unpacking and I didn’t have time to go to the drugstore. You wouldn’t happen to be a designer or a decorator, would you? Your place is sharp.”

“No, I’m not a designer. I’m just tidy. Don’t worry about disturbing me. I’ve got jet lag so I was up anyway.”

Her eyes caught the glint of several tiny pieces of foil that had fallen to the floor when he removed the wrapping from the neck of his wine bottle. She glared down at the specks littering the carpet in front of her doorway. She looked up at her neighbor and then back down at the mess, frowning. What a slob. How can he not see that mess he just made? Clenching her fists and grabbing the hem of her top, Celeste resisted the urge to say anything.

“Did you reseal this box or have you just not had a chance to break this open yet?” he asked, inspecting the box. “Still six months left before they expire.”

“No, I thought I was going to need them a few months ago, but I didn’t. You can have them.” She kneeled down to pick up the pieces of litter he’d just dropped and tucked them into the pocket of her pajamas.

“Sorry about that. Thanks for these,” he said, flexing huge biceps and leaning into the door frame. “So, why didn’t you need them?”

“That’s nunya,” she replied, wondering what kind of hot encounter Ken had planned for later. A man wouldn’t be looking for condoms in the middle of the night if he didn’t plan to use them.

“Nunya? What does that mean? Did he bring his own?”

“No. Nunya means: None. Of. Your. Business.”

“Oh, now I’m really curious. A man turned down a sexy woman like you?” He leaned closer and his body filled the doorway, nearly blocking the twinkling lights shining down from the foyer chandelier.

“No, it was more like I turned him down. Don’t worry about it. It was a while ago,” she lied.

“How long?”

“A while.” Celeste wished he would offer her some wine to sip on while she fought the urge to invite her sexy neighbor in. She felt his warm, sweet breath on her as he stood close enough to hug. She wanted to wrap her arms around him, bury her face in his chest and feel his arms wrapped around her.

“Well, I’m worried about you,” he said.

Celeste’s heart flipped. Worried? Was he really concerned or just looking for his next conquest? Just how many women is he worried about? She folded her arms across her chest as a sign of protection as well as to hide her braless nipples, which were now erect and pointing straight at him. “Worried? Why?”

“I’m worried because it’s been a while and you still haven’t had a chance to use them.” He shook the box of condoms before sliding them into his pocket.

“Well, don’t worry about it,” she said, laughing at his persistence.

“Maybe I can help. What exactly are you looking for?”

“Excuse me?”

“In a man. What are you looking for?”

“I don’t know. What makes you think I’m looking for someone?” she said, suddenly unable to look him in the eyes. She pretended to study the intricate patterns on the entryway rug.

“You don’t know? How are you ever going to find that special someone to use these with if you don’t know what you’re looking for?” He patted the pocket he’d just stuffed with the box of condoms. She glanced up to catch his ebony eyes scanning her. A smile lit the corner of his lips. “Am I your type?”

Celeste gazed at the gorgeous man standing in front of her and rubbed her sweaty palms on her sleeves. His muscles bulged under the snug T-shirt emblazoned with the name of the local professional football team. His team. The tight denim jeans he wore hugged his thighs and cock, leaving little to the imagination. Even his toes looked good enough to suck as they rested in a pair of shower slides.

Grazing his shoulders were glossy black dreadlocks that smelled like sweet tropical oil. When he spoke, the dreads waved like the branches of a palm tree seductively calling for her to lie down under them. Yes, he’s definitely my type.
