Spring is sprung! Week is review!

This week went by in a blur. I managed to get quite a few things done but still have so much that I want to accomplish. Trying to take deep breaths and get what I need accomplished.

Managed to get in one social after work event with co-worker. We had a drink and appetizer after work. Fun!. I made an date with my sister to meet after work this Friday for a drink but she cancelled on me due to some other committments.

Self Care

Got a gel manicure in baby pink color and french tip toe polish pedicure. I love the toes but not so sure about the baby pink. Wish it was either a pearly pink or a barely there pink. Hard to tell what its' going to look like on the samples. Oh well.

Removed my braids. I got them for the vacation and they served their purpose. Now I'm on to a fun spring style. Unfortunately the dark brown/ almost black hair coloring the stylist put in my hair in January is still there. I thought it was semi permanent but it is still hanging around in full force. I purchased some lighter brown #2 hair for extensions but now I think it is way too light. I also was hoping to add some highlights in a 4/30 mix but my edges ann top hair is too dark. The young guy at the beauty supply hair store told me my hair was a #1B but I didn't think it was that dark until I got home and looked at it again in the mirror. Of course the beauty supply don't offer refunds or exchanges. Sooooo...I have a few options.

Option #1 Try to color the hair to the brown that I want. I need to dye my edges anyway but I am afraid that I might end up with some green hair or something.

Option #2 Try to remove the dark brown/ black hair color that stylist Adrienne put in with some of the color rid that you can buy at the beauty supply. It's not bleach its some type of semi permanent color remover. Need to check with stylist to be sure she used semi-permanent.

Option #3 Buy some darker hair , like #1B to blend with the #2. That might look a little more natural than to go from a #1B short natural texture to a #2 long weave hair with highlights.

Need to think about it.

Last Saturday, I went to the Scrapbook Expo and purchased an album to scrap my pictures from the cruise. As well as some items to make Easter cards and some decorative scrapbook paper.

Exercised 4 days this week. Walked at work twice, at home after work once and went to the gym one day. Goal is to try to keep it up next week.

I continue to have hormonal shifts which make me want to cry sometimes. I guess it is just part of getting older. The change of life is coming in a few years and I can't image that things will get worse but I imagine they will. The male gynecologist doesn't seem to understand. When I asked if there was anything to help with perimenopause. He shook his head. If you are still having periods then you are not in menopause. Oh. *Rolling my eyes*
I manage by thinking about my blessings and taking a glass of wine now and then. I'm so glad that I didn't wait until now to try to have children. Anyway...

Study

Registered for the July Bar Exam. This basically involved paying the outrageous registration fee which totaled $753 for the exam and the laptop fee. Which basically you have to pay. Still need to download the Soft Test software and register my computer.
Still need to study. Received the barbri study books this week and investigated a bar review class. There is a local class that looked good called the WriterEdge. Chick wants $5000 for coaching, grading tests and her books.

I'm taking a deep breath. Managed to study 4 hours a night this week and will go to the law library at JFK tomorrow to study more. I'm learning that I have to read and read the material cause I have just been skimming and not truly understanding. So I might not get through this exam but plan to keep on keeping on to get through until I pass.

Finished reading Fab 5 entries. Now I need to type up my comments and return them to the contest coordinator. I think they are due in a week or so.

Spring Cleaning
Got up this morning and finished removing the last of my braids. Then I cleaned my bathroom, bedroom, kitchen and completed some much needed dusting.

Scavenger
Found 51 second chance entries for the Calfornia State Lottery Fantasy 5 online drawing. Yes, I did scavenger pick them out of the trash at the liquor store across the street from my work. I entered all the number and have a chance to win one of 3 $10,000 prices or 13 - $1000 prizes that will be pulled this week. Checked the ca lottery website and there are an average of 175,000 entries so odds are high but better than if I hadn't entered at all. #Fingerscrossed

Husband is not speaking to me. I'm not really sure what that is about. #Shrug

Spending

I need to get my spending under control. I cancelled the Judith Ripka today special value bracelets that I impulse purchased last night and this morning. They were cute but I have so many beautiful things already.
I have bought quite a few items of clothing from nordstroms lately. I needed some new work clothes and have been getting complements on the lovely blouses I purchased so I feel good. After I get my hair done next Saturday, I will be done spending for a while and need to focus on paying off credit cards.

Work

There is a lot going on at work both professionally and socially. It is so hard to stay above the chatter, gossip and politics. It's hard to not be influenced but what everyone else is going through. Big Sigh!
I've managed to get my work done and be supportive of my co-workers. I keep my eyes open for other positions that I might be qualified for and continue to study for the bar so that I can make my own opportunities.

WishList for Next Week
Visit with my family for Easter
Get my hair done for Easter. Figure out hair color scheme.
Get through a couple of meetings I need to get through
Exercise 5X/ Walk Daily
Study a minimum of 4 hours per day for the bar
